Special Announcement: PromoKitchen Mentor Platform

The Promo Kitchen Mentorship program is all about helping each other to create a better and stronger industry. There are lots of new people in this industry every day who are looking for answers and advise on a myriad of different issues and questions. Conversely there are lots of veterans that have lived experiences going through many of the same things that the new people go through. We work to help these newer or less experienced people find a mentor that can help them develop in their career, set goals work through issues and be more successful in their careers. We are excited to launch a new system and process for our program!

The system we used previously was an extremely manual pairing process where each mentor and mentee had to be selected manually and notified of their pairing. This new process through Facebook is a little more robust from a technology standpoint. Mentees are able to select from a pool of available mentors based on key strengths, abilities and more listed in their mentor profile. Facebook then guides them on an 8 week structured platform on how to get their most out of the mentorship relationship. It focuses on things like goal setting, issue resolution, relationship building and more.

This new system takes some of the pressure off of our volunteer committee at PromoKitchen and gives the power directly to the mentees to find a pairing that will help them be successful in their careers. That way we as a committee can focus on finding great mentors to stock the pool and continue to grow the program. Here is a link to the new group if you want to check it out or sign up to be a mentor!
