PromoKitchen Announces New Chefs, New Ideas and New Flavors
Get ready for some new recipes!
The chefs at PromoKitchen are whisking up recipes and blending fresh flavors with new ingredients. While a lot of the menu remains the same, we’re moving some sweet leadership into the kitchen. We are thrilled to announce the election of Chair, Johanna Gottlieb and Vice Chair, Kate Plummer.
Johanna joined PromoKitchen in 2016 and has been a volunteer who totally bleeds orange! When she’s not working as the Vice President of Sales, Midwest, for New York based distributor Axis Promotions, she’s a major part of the mentorship program. If you’ve been one of our mentors or mentees, you’ve gotten an email from her. And if you haven’t, sign up here!
Gottlieb says, "I am really excited to help lead this wonderful organization. I am in awe of how our board members have worked to establish PromoKitchen and can't wait to see what our future holds. We are going to be building up internal programs and have some fantastic ideas for growth. It is an honor to work with the fellow Chefs and a privilege to help better the Promotional Products Industry."
Kate started with PromoKitchen in 2018 when the #PromoChat team was looking for help creating questions and managing their weekly Twitter chat. (Which you should join every Wednesday at Noon/PST, 3pm/EST) Her role as Vice President at Toronto based supplier, Clearmount, keeps her busy but that doesn’t mean she can’t find time for the chat and the weekly podcast series Deep Dive.
Plummer adds, “This group of rebels, creatives, weirdos and cool kids have been an amazing inspiration and cheerleaders for education and mentorship in the promo industry. We have a great group of chefs and sous chefs and I can’t wait to see what everyone continues to bring to the table!”
Three new chefs were also elected to the board. Molly Neises from Maple Ridge Farms, Jessica Gibbons-Rauch from Trend On Brand and Carson Roncketto from Creative. All have been active members in the #PromoChat, Editorial and Mentorship committees.
We cannot fail to mention that each person elected is a woman. As Beyonce said it "Who run the World? Girls."
We also want to give a very heartfelt thank you to our past Chair, Robert Fiveash. After succeeding Mark Graham four years ago, Robert’s tenure has been marked by the completion of a successful Strategic Plan that concentrated on optimizing the Mentorship Program, strengthening committees & illuminating governance, and increasing engagement. In addition to ramping up sponsorships/partnerships with industry supporters and helping the Sous Chef program come to life, his tenure also saw the birth of new education programs such as #PromoChat & Deep Dive, On The Spot, Short Stack and the new inspirational e-book called “THRIVE WITH MENTORS.” Available free here.
According to Robert, “It’s been a great (and quick!) four years, and I’m grateful for all the support of the amazing PK Chefs. None of our successes and growth over the past years could have occurred without their dedication to the PK vison and their DOER mentality. If there’s one thing I’m most proud of, it’s the fact that PromoKitchen is in great shape to launch into its next phase. Johanna and Kate are the perfect leaders to take PK into the future, and I’m excited to work with them during the transition and beyond. Exciting times!”
